Foreign minister Maxime Verhagen was horrified to hear that two members of the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps have been killed in Uruzgan.

'It is a terrible thing to hear that two young people have lost their lives. They have paid the ultimate price for their efforts in Afghanistan. My thoughts are now with their family and friends.'
