President of the ICC thanks Rosenthal and Hague

During British Foreign Secretary William Hague’s visit to the Netherlands Sang-Hyun Song, President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), thanked Mr Hague and Minister of Foreign Affairs Uri Rosenthal for their assistance in securing the release of four of his staff in Libya.

During British Foreign Secretary William Hague’s visit to the Netherlands Sang-Hyun Song, President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), thanked Mr Hague and Minister of Foreign Affairs Uri Rosenthal for their assistance in securing the release of four of his staff in Libya.

The four ICC workers were held for a number of weeks at a remote location. ‘The Netherlands played a role behind the scenes in securing their release,’ said Mr Rosenthal. ‘The Dutch ambassador was in discussions with the relevant authorities from the start to support the prisoners’ interests.’
