The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released an updated media note about the logistical and practical arrangements for the Nuclear Security Summit (NSS 2014), to be held 24 and 25 March in The Hague, the Netherlands.

This document contains important information about registration and accreditation procedures, in-depth information on available facilities and a detailed overview of media coverage opportunities during the Summit. Registration for media accreditation is closing on 10 March 2014

Registration for media accreditation to the Nuclear Security Summit 2014 is closing on Monday, 10 March 2014 (midnight). Registration after this deadline is not possible. Registration is followed by the accreditation process.

Foreign media representatives who need to make travel arrangements for their journey to the Netherlands are strongly advised to register as soon as possible. All media representatives wishing to cover the Nuclear Security Summit 2014 and who have not registered yet, are strongly encouraged not to wait until the last minute!

In brief:

•    Journalists and photographers holding a permanent appointment require a letter of assignment on official letterhead signed by the editor-in-chief or bureau chief of the media organization (newspaper, Radio/TV, magazine or professional journalism website) specifying the name and functional title/position of the applicant seeking accreditation.

•    Freelance journalists and photographers require a letter on official letterhead signed by the editor-in-chief or bureau chief of the media organization (newspaper, Radio/TV, magazine or professional journalism website) confirming the assignment and intent to publish the work of the applicant seeking accreditation.

•    The assignment of freelance media representatives must be related to the content or organization of the Nuclear Security Summit.

•    All journalists and photographers seeking accreditation must practice the profession of journalist/photographer as their main occupation.

•    Each applicant must also be able to upload a photo, a copy of a press card and a copy of a valid passport/ID; this also applies to camera operators and sound technicians.
