Security Council Members Visit the Netherlands
A delegation of the United Nations Security Council is visiting the Netherlands on Aug. 10 and 11.
While in The Hague, the delegation will meet with members of the international courts and tribunals and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. They will also visit Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
The Dutch Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, Karel van Oosterom, will accompany the Security Council members on their visits.
They will be given a guided tour of the Peace Palace, where they will have consecutive meetings with representatives of the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, the Special Court for Sierra Leone, the International Criminal Court and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
The delegation arrived in The Hague on Sunday evening, and was briefed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Renée Jones-Bos, on the state of affairs concerning the MH17 air disaster.
