11 Dutch UN youth representative for Sustainable Development contributes to the High Level Political Forum on behalf of the Major Group for Children and Youth

On June 30th the second session of the High Level Political Forum [HLPF] held under the auspices of ECOSOC commenced. The HLPF has been given the mandate to monitor the progress of the Sustainable Development Goals. Ties Mouwen, Dutch UN youth representative for sustainable development delivered the following intervention on behalf of the Major Group for Children and Youth [MGCY] on the topic of sustainable production and consumption.

The Treaty Database (‘Verdragenbank’) of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a database containing information on treaties, such as their entry into force and the contracting parties, providing links to the texts of the treaties. Find more information in the pdf-document

13 Three Chinook helicopters to Mali

The Netherlands will add three Chinook transport helicopters to its contribution to the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). In the vast area of northern Mali, the availability of transport helicopters is of great value to the UN mission. The helicopters will be used for medical evacuation, transportation tasks and tactical mobility.

14 Prime Minister Mark Rutte: ‘Satisfied with first day of NSS’

Speaking after the first day of the Nuclear Security Summit, Prime Minister Mark Rutte said: ‘It was a good first day. As chairman of this NSS I’m very satisfied. This is only the halfway point, but I’m convinced we’ll be able to continue in the same excellent atmosphere tomorrow.’

15 Screening of the short documentary “Theo van Boven: A Tribute”

On Thursday April 3, the Netherlands Mission, in close cooperation with the Mission of Argentina and Human Rights Watch, is organizing a screening of the short documentary “Theo van Boven: A Tribute”. The documentary focusses on Professor van Boven’s time as director of the UN Division of Human Rights.

17 Decent work for Women: A case for Living Wages

The People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Kingdom of the Netherlands cordially invite you to join an event on Decent Work for Women, to be held on the margins of the 58th session of the Commission on the Status of Women in New York. 19 Financial assistance to supervise Iran’s compliance with nuclear agreement

The Netherlands has pledged €300,000 to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna. Alongside other countries, the Netherlands is making this contribution to enable the IAEA to verify whether Iran is complying with the interim agreement on restricting its nuclear programm
