Statement by the Kingdom of the Netherlands
We align ourselves with the statement made by the EU and will add a few short remarks in our national capacity.
We welcome this opportunity to reflect on our program of work ahead, focusing on the synergies between post-2015 and FfD. We would like to make four points.
1. Firstly, regarding the link between post-2015 and FfD, our aim should be to create a comprehensive and coherent outcome that covers all financial and non-financial means, resources and policy actions necessary to implement the goals and targets.
2. Secondly, we need to focus our attention on creating a package of concrete deliverables that inspire action, with progress markers enabling accountability. Such a set of ambitious, specific and relevant actions should reflect a collective commitment to the achievement of the post-2015 goals and targets.
3. Thirdly, we would favor a flexible and pragmatic approach to the upcoming post-2015 session in April, with a plan of work that can be adjusted as needed, focusing on the coherence between the two processes, and more specifically on concrete and relevant deliverables.
4. Fourthly, in the processes so far we have spent ample time discussing goals and targets. Now we need to focus our attention on the means to deliver them. There is an unmistakable urgency to this. We are strongly committed to creating this package.
Co-facilitators, we look forward to working together on this crucial part of the agenda under your leadership. Our priority on this track should be to devote time and effort, reinforcing the work in FfD, to create an ambitious, solid and transformative MoI package so we can deliver the goals and targets.
